VULCAN is a modern creation of the Magnet program headed by Israel's Chief Scientist. It provides an answer for the rising need in video surveillance, which has become one of the key elements in increasing personal and institutional security.
The establishment of VULCAN emerged due to the multiplicity of limitations in the current existing video surveillance methods.
The main concept behind this nonprofit nongovernmental organization involves gathering leading security vendors and state-of-the art academic researchers in the content analysis field and initiating joint cooperation between the various entities.
VULCAN provides its members with an infrastructure and financial resources that will allow them to accelerate development and obtain major progress in automating the raw video analysis and significantly improves the effectiveness of these tools against universal threats
